Mentoring is a time-honored tradition. It inspires and strengthens us. We have more courage, creativity, and confidence to challenge ourselves to reach for top quality results.

In the search for the right fit, we should assess

– Who are the right mentors?

– What do they look for to help us grow? and

– When should we accept their help?

People ask me about mentoring because they know that mentors forged my life. I left home at eight that broke the trusted bond with family. For years until mentors started walking into my life, uncertain of life’s realities, I bounced between pride and fear, keeping secrets and sometimes progressing and sometimes paying dearly for not knowing how to navigate.

This summary is a salute to my mentors and all of life’s lessons.
